Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s marriage is on the brink after Star ripped the lid off Ben’s shocking hidden gambling life and involvement in an underground poker ring. Friends say Jennifer is reeling from the news that her husband of six years has not been honest with her and reverted to his dangerous habits of boozing and gambling millions of dollars behind her back. As Star first revealed in a world-exclusive article, for years Ben has been secretly gambling a fortune in high-stakes poker games that included A-list stars like Tobey Maguire, Matt Damon, and Leonardo DiCaprio.

“Ben’s telling friends that Jen is ‘busting his b*lls’ about the scandal,” the source reveals, adding that Ben, 38, routinely lost tens of thousands of dollars in a single night. After Ben’s rehab stint in 2001, Jennifer is terrified that his history of gambling, drinking, and womanizing is catching up with him. “Jen had no idea that he was playing poker and drinking again, let alone that he was a key figure in a secret gambling society that playing up to twice a week,” one of the game’s players says.

When he and Jennifer married in 2005, Ben promised his love that he was sober and had given up gambling — but that clearly hasn’t happened.

“Ben has a really compulsive personality and can’t help himself,” says the source. “If you lose close to $500,00, that’s a problem — no matter how rich you are.”

It’s also a problem that could threaten his marriage. “Once Ben starts gambling, he can’t stop,” the insider says. “If things get worse, Jen could be a single mom.” The source ads: “This had created big problems in Ben’s life, and he is beyond worried.”

Jennifer Garner is heading home this weekend (18-19Jun11) to host a fundraiser for a musical theatre society in her native Charleston, West Virginia.

The Hollywood actress, who grew up in Charleston but now lives in California with her husband Ben Affleck and their children, used to perform with the Charleston Light Opera Guild in her youth.

Garner is now hosting a charity gala in aid of the organisation at the Charleston Civic Center on Saturday night (18Jun11). After a red carpet event, she will introduce a performance of popular musical Thoroughly Modern Millie before hosting a reception afterwards to raise funds for the group.

Jennifer Garner has been seen recently with a rounded stomach and wearing baggy clothes causing a furore of reports that she was expecting her third child. But the Alias star has denied the pregnancy rumours and says she is not having a baby.
‘The speculation is false, she is not pregnant,’ Garner’s representative said.

The denial given to E! News puts paid to gossip that five-year-old Violet and two-year-old Seraphina were going to become big sisters any time soon.
Garner was seen leaving a book store with Violet last week with a noticeably fuller figure.
The usually svelte star wore jeans with a baby blue sweater and held her delightful daughter’s hand as she skipped along.

She was also seen last Wednesday going to a business meeting in a fitted black dress that showed a more rounded stomach, which continued to set the rumour mill alight.

Actress Jennifer Garner will host a June 18 benefit for the Charleston Light Opera Guild. Garner took part in Guild productions when she was growing up in Charleston.  She will attend the June 18 performance of the Guild’s show “Thoroughly Modern Millie,” which will run during the city’s arts extravaganza, FestivALL. She also will appear at a gala reception at the Charleston Civic Center after the show.

Guild Director Nina Pasinetti said Garner volunteered to host a benefit for the Guild. Pasinetti was once Garner’s dance instructor and cast the actress in roles for several Guild musicals, including “Annie Get Your Gun” and “The Music Man.”

Mayor Danny Jones also performed in those productions. “I tell anyone who will listen to me that I was in two shows with Jennifer Garner,” he said during a news conference Thursday.

Those who attend the benefit performance will walk a red carpet into the Civic Center Little Theater. Tickets are $200 for the show, the after party and a photograph taken with Garner. For just the show and after party, tickets are $120.

Tickets go on sale June 1 at the Civic Center Little Theater Box Office. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. FestivALL begins June 17 and continues through June 26 throughout Charleston. Performances of “Thoroughly Modern Millie” are June 17-19 and 24-26.

Jennifer Garner kicks off Frigidaire’s Stain Games on Tuesday (April 26) at the Glendale Sports Complex in Glendale, Calif.

The 39-year-old actress hit the field for the campaign, which helps raise funds and awareness for Save the Children’s mission to promote healthier lifestyles.

“What a great way to support an important cause!” Jen shared.

“With two little ones [Violet and Seraphina], I’ve been on the sidelines at a lot of sporting events, but this is the first time I’ve actually been a part of the action in a while. There’s no better way to encourage kids to be active than to get out there and run around yourself,” she added.
